Camping at Letchworth State Park, NY

Letchworth State Park is very pretty. It's about 35 miles from Buffalo and Niagara Falls... without all the tourists :) I had no idea something like this was around here. They call it the Grand Canyon of the East. Not quite the Grand Canyon, but still awesome.

we saw a billion dear. i was worried i would hit one. we also saw a bear! the woman at the desk said that a day before she would have said there were no bears - but upon seeing a picture of one on the road nearby she would say there was one bear. then we saw one ourselves shortly after. it was so cute running across the road.

here i am making a fire out of the wood we gathered. all the stores were closed so we had to rough it. fun! i love a good camp fire.

yay we put up our tent!! it was a nice spot, until the morning when we our tent was getting pelted by squirrel food. scary!
